Turn left onto Cook St and continue straight until you reach Frank Sinatra Dr. Turn right onto Frank Sinatra Dr and continue straight until you reach Bob Hope Dr. Turn left onto Bob Hope Dr and continue straight until you reach Dr. Turn right onto Zoo Dr and follow the signs to the zovo.

If you are coming from Indio, take I-10 W and exit at Cook St. Turn right onto Cook St and continue straight until you reach Frank Sinatra Dr. Turn right onto Frank Sinatra Dr and continue straight until you reach Bob Hope Dr. Turn left onto Bob Hope Dr and continue straight until you reach Zoo Dr. Turn right onto Zoo Dr and follow the signs to the zoo.

How much time do you need to see everything the zoo has to offer?

In order to visit the entire zoo, I recommend allowing at least 2 – 3 hours (especially if you have small children). The zoo is large and there is a lot to see

Are there picnic areas?

Yes. Although there are several eateries scattered throughout the zoo, there are also areas suitable for a picnic

Is the zoo accessible?

Yes the Palm Desert Zoo is completely wheelchair accessible. There are also rest areas and benches scattered throughout the zoo

When is the best time to visit?

The zoo is located in the Coachella Dessert, which can get extremely hot during the months of April – October. The “down season” is January to March. I visited the zoo in January and the weather was perfect for exploring and there were a minimal amount of tourists at that time.
