Welcome To My Own Backyard
Welcome to My Own Backyard. I hope you are thirsty, as this week’s feature will be taking to you to a very quaint brew-pub, Charlotteville Brewing Company
It won’t come as a surprise to many that brew pubs and micro-breweries have exploded throughout the world and Ontario is no exception. Currently there are approximately 350 micro-breweries throughout Ontario, so if a cold one is on the agenda, you shouldn’t have a problem finding one.
Charlotteville Brewing Company – In My Own Backyard
With all of the brew pubs scattered throughout Ontario, they all begin to look alike. That is until I found Charlotteville Brewing Company.
Charlotteville Brewing Company can be found in the up and coming Norfolk County. It doesn’t look like much from the outside (it’s actually in a barn), but as soon as you enter through the doors you know that you have landed someplace special and unique.
I admit that I’m not much of a beer lover, but you just HAVE to try a beer tasting flight when you are here (Caution: you will be tipsy afterwards). In addition to the great craft beer, the food isn’t too shabby either. It is made with locally grown products, some of which is produced directly on the operating farm where the brewery is located.
Whenever you are in the Norfolk Region, or road tripping down Highway 3 (which by the way is one of the best road trips in Ontario), you just have to make it a mission to stop in at this brewery for a cold one. So far the Charlotteville Brewing Company is the coolest brew pub that I have found In My Own Backyard.
I am off to explore some more brew pub’s In My Own Backyard. Until next time….
CHEERS 🙂

Oh, I want to visit that place! Looks like a cool and unique brewery! I bet you enjoyed sipping and savoring beers there.
this is the coolest brewery I’ve been too and the beer was really good which was a bonus
I love the idea of being a tourist in your own hometown. I’ll have to add this to my list when I visit Charlotteville.
the beer is fantastic
This is the time to be a tourist in our own backyard. Its great that you are sharing some of the great things from your place. Charlotteville Brewing Company looks like a quaint place exuding a certain charm. I love my beer and would definitely love to visit this place.
I’m not a beer lover but I loved this place. And the beer and food were fantastic
This is not what I would expect for a brewing company! I love that you are exploring your own backyard and spent some time at this little spot. We have been doing much of the same. Cheers!
this spot was a gem of a find CHEERS
I love microbreweries and this one looks just up my street. All I have to do is get to Norfolk County!
lol. There are tonnes of vineyards here as well, and no crowds like in niagara
Charlotteville Brewing Company has such a quaint and old-world charm. It seems such a cozy and warm place to spend some time in. Having the place in your own backyard is so nice. The seating looks so welcoming as do the snacks served with the beer.
I could easily have stayed for hours I loved it so much.
Always up for craft beer! very entertaining post 🙂
Thank you. Me too!
This sounds great. I love the atmosphere also. It looks so cozy!
It was the perfect spot to spend a couple hours!
Such a cosy looking place, especially on a snowy day. I’m not much of a beer drinker these days but I’d happily stop here for a nice road trip lunch and relax.
The food was great and the atmosphere was even better
Breweries always have great food! I’m not much of a beer drinker myself, but i love rye bread sammies 🙂
The food was so fresh. Much of the produce was grown right on the farm
Wow, that is such a cool looking place! I’m not a beer drinker either, but I think brewpubs often have really cool looking spaces. And finding places in your own backyard is awesome!
I loved it here. It was so cozy and so many things to look at. I loved the bathroom especially. It was such a surprise
Such a cool post. Being locked down in Germany right now, visiting a brewery is not such a bad idea, after all. However, here up north, we don’t have as many as in the very south.
Anyway, I pour myself a beer now – cheers, Kelly!
Cheers🍻 I hope you have a fantastic weekend!
What a charming place! I especially love that herringbone brick floor, so cozy! I’m not a huge fan of beer either, but I think I’d have to try one and just relax on the couch with a yummy snack.
it was surprising good. And so was the food. The produce was grown on the farm or by locals so it was so fresh.
Isn’t it amazing how these fads happen, then they become a trend, and before long they become the fabric or our daily surroundings. It’s happened with micro breweries, and with gin in recent years. I’m staying with my Mum at the moment during lockdown, and a couple of doors away is a farm with a micro brewery sign. But I’m going to have to wait until businesses open up again so that I can do and do a tour and take photos so I can feature them on my blog. I love all these staycation opportunities for blog posts ..
When lockdown is over it will be handy for you to have the brewery close by. No designated driver needed lol
What a warm and homey looking place. You are lucky to live nearby but I have a feeling I would visit way too often. Do they have a full menu or just bar snacks?
They serve healthy pub food. Salads, sandwiches, etc. Much of the veggies are grown right on the farm, so they are really fresh.
Brewpubs are popping up everywhere! This one looks especially cute. I love that it’s in a barn, that makes it unique for sure. We have lots in Vancouver, but none in a barn 😉
I loved the atmosphere in this one, and the beer wasn’t too shabby either lol.
This brewery looks so homey and cozy – those are the best!! I love the couch and the books – I could probably get swept up in a book and beer and stay there all day! Haha
You and me both. It doesn’t get much better than beer and books lol.
What a cool spot! I love craft beer places but I find that when I do a flight it can lead to a headache in the morning haha. Maybe I’m just getting old or set in my ways for specific beer types.
haha. Let me tell you, I had a headache after this one. The flights were so large!
I love that this is an old barn! It is so rustic and charming and I would just love to see it in person. Of course, I’d love to try the beer, too! I love these cool craft beer companies that seem to be popping up everywhere!
I agree. I loved this place. It was so welcoming and cozy. The beer wasn’t to shabby either
Always great to explore and find new local places! This is a cute and unique looking brewery and the beer looks good!
The beer was actually REALLY good, and I’m not much of a beer drinker.
Canada has some AMAZING microbreweries! We enjoyed exploring a few in Toronto. This one looks really lovely too, thanks for the tip!
I haven’t been to any in Toronto. Honestly, I avoid Toronto if I can. Too big for my liking lol.
I have driven highway 3 but didn’t stop at any pubs! I will next time for sure. great pictures too!
There are so many wineries, vineyards and brew-pubs in that area now!
I love being a tourist in my own town, so I love the idea behind this post. The pictures you included are great. It looks like an adorable, quaint, local place to check out.
Thank you. Since we cant travel, I will be doing a lot more exploring at home
