Welcome To My Own Backyard

Welcome to My Own Backyard.  I hope you are thirsty, as this week’s feature will be taking to you to a very quaint brew-pub, Charlotteville Brewing Company

It won’t come as a surprise to many that brew pubs and micro-breweries have exploded throughout the world and Ontario is no exception.  Currently there are approximately 350 micro-breweries throughout Ontario, so if a cold one is on the agenda, you shouldn’t have a problem finding one.

Charlotteville Brewing Company – In My Own Backyard

With all of the brew pubs scattered throughout Ontario, they all begin to look alike.  That is until I found Charlotteville Brewing Company.

Charlotteville Brewing Company can be found in the up and coming Norfolk County.  It doesn’t look like much from the outside (it’s actually in a barn), but as soon as you enter through the doors you know that you have landed someplace special and unique.

I admit that I’m not much of a beer lover, but you just HAVE to try a beer tasting flight  when you are here (Caution:  you will be tipsy afterwards).  In addition to the great craft beer, the food isn’t too shabby either.  It is made with locally grown products, some of which is produced directly on the operating farm where the brewery is located.

Whenever you are in the Norfolk Region, or road tripping down Highway 3 (which by the way is one of the best road trips in Ontario), you just have to make it a mission to stop in at this brewery for a cold one.  So far the Charlotteville Brewing Company is the coolest brew pub that I have found In My Own Backyard.

I am off to explore some more brew pub’s In My Own Backyard.  Until next time….

CHEERS 🙂

  10. Such a cool post. Being locked down in Germany right now, visiting a brewery is not such a bad idea, after all. However, here up north, we don’t have as many as in the very south.
Anyway, I pour myself a beer now – cheers, Kelly!

  11. What a charming place! I especially love that herringbone brick floor, so cozy! I’m not a huge fan of beer either, but I think I’d have to try one and just relax on the couch with a yummy snack.

  12. Isn’t it amazing how these fads happen, then they become a trend, and before long they become the fabric or our daily surroundings. It’s happened with micro breweries, and with gin in recent years. I’m staying with my Mum at the moment during lockdown, and a couple of doors away is a farm with a micro brewery sign. But I’m going to have to wait until businesses open up again so that I can do and do a tour and take photos so I can feature them on my blog. I love all these staycation opportunities for blog posts ..
