Summertime Adventures

Spring is in the air and is right around the corner, and it is time to start planning those summertime adventures!

Yes, Canada still has lots of snow, but this is the time of year that I begin to make my Spring and Summer bucket list.  After being cooped up alone for 5 months, one does start to go a bit stir crazy lol, so it’s no surprise that almost every item on my list will include an activity in the great outdoors.

I normally do the majority of my travels during the winter and fall months, leaving the warmer spring and summer months free to explore and enjoy activities in my own Country.  Canada only offers a few months of warm weather, so it is important to me that I not waste a moment of being in the great outdoors.  After all, summer is made for sand, sun, flip flops, adventures, and fruity drinks.  There is not a minute to waste!

When I am putting together my Spring/Summer bucket list, I always include my favorite outdoor activities, as well as include new activities.  I also include simple pleasures that I am able to do during the work week (yes I still work full-time).  To me it is important to make the most of the outdoors as much as possible during the short time I have, which will always include a week night adventure of some sort.

Ahhhhh Summer – I love you to the beach and back

Great list Kelly! Here in the southern hemisphere, we’re clinging to the last of our warm days so I’ll be getting outside as much as possible for the next few weeks. Taking a hot air balloon ride has been on my list for too long 🙂

I love that you included little and big things! You’re right, we tend to discount the little pleasures but they’re so much more achievable and make the rest of our week so much brighter. I love chasing waterfalls, but for me, that’s a drive several hours away, so that’s at least a weekend activity. But taking yourself out for an ice cream, now that’s a true summertime pleasure that’s achievable any time! Great ideas that we can all use.

Living in the UK we have a similar experience. While winter in our area isn’t as cold as Canada, it’s so often raining, and dark and grey. We like to be home more in the good weather months, and travel overseas in the miserable months!

These are all really great ideas! I love that most of them are free and can also be accomplished during social distancing. I truly appreciate the suggestions and look so forward to summer! Thanks for the inspiration!
