Jet Skiing In Bora Bora: The Ultimate Adventure
Exploring Bora Bora’s Lagoons
Bora Bora is renowned for its pristine lagoons, which are teeming with vibrant marine life and offer stunning views of the surrounding landscapes. There is no better way to explore the ultimate in beauty that by jet ski.
Jet skiing allows you to venture beyond the shoreline and explore the hidden gems of these lagoons. As you ride, you’ll be amazed by the crystal-clear waters, coral gardens, and the colorful array of tropical fish that inhabit the region. Don’t forget to keep an eye out for the majestic stingrays and harmless reef sharks that often make an appearance.
Exploring The Lagoons By Jet Ski On Your Own

Before renting a jet ski, it’s important to ask about the conditions and requirements. Some rental companies may require you to be a certain age and have a valid driver’s license. They may also provide a brief training session to familiarize you with the controls and ensure your safety on the water.
Exploring The Lagoons With a Guide
If you’re not familiar with the area or prefer the company of an experienced guide, a guided tour can provide valuable insight and take you to the best spots in Bora Bora.
Since this was our first time visiting Bora Bora, and driving or riding a jet ski for that matter, we opted to join a tour. We knew before we left for Bora Bora that this was one activity that we didn’t want to miss, so we booked the tour before leaving home. However, you do have a last minute option of booking a jet ski tour with the conceirge at the resort.
Moana Guided Jet Ski Tour
Moana Guided Jet Ski Tour provided us with a memorable jet ski adventure across the lagoons circling the atolls of Bora Bora. My friend and I shared a jet ski, which I honestly wouldn’t recommend if this is the first time on one for each of you.
The tour company picked us up at our boat dock and took us to the jet ski launch where we were briefed on safety issues and taught how to operate the seadoo. They then broke us into two groups: the newbies, and the adventurers who have seadooed before.
Once this was completed, it was time to load our belongings and off we went. We circuled half way around the island before parking in a shallow lagoon alongside the prestigeous St. Regis Resort.
While we swam and rested for half an hour, our guide went on shore to gather fresh fruit from the trees and returned with pineapple, mangos, fresh coconut, and bananas. He proceeded to lay out a fruit buffet on the rear of one of the jet skis. For me, this was the best part of the tour.

To make the most of your jet skiing adventure in Bora Bora, there are a few things that will make your experience more enjoyable:

- Pack essentials: Bring essentials like sunscreen, towels, and a change of clothes in a waterproof bag.
- Respect the environment: Be mindful of the delicate ecosystem and avoid damaging coral reefs or disturbing marine life.
Just One Tip: Remember, the sun is hot and you’ll be in direct sunlight for most of the day. I highly recommend wearing a rashguard. You might also consider wearing water shoes.
