A few years ago, I had the opportunity to visit Los Cabos for the very first time. I had been to the Myan Riviera several times, however I had never been to the Pacific side. I had no idea what to expect except that I had been told that it was completely different than the Mayan area.

My brother, who has a timeshare in Los Cabos and visits annually, said that if he could give me one piece of advice when visiting Los Cabos, it would be to get out on the water. He explained that it was an entirely different world, and he was absolutely right.

I took my brother’s advice and booked a tour from the hotel I was staying at, the Royal Decameron in San Jose. Being out on the water was my favourite day in Los Cabos and I want to share with you what you can expect to see. Let’s hit the water in Los Cabos and explore!

Being out on the water in Los Cabos offers a unique opportunity to witness the annual migration of whales. While, I personally hadn’t booked a whale watching excursion, I was still lucky enough to spot a whale while I was snorkelling out in the ocean. In fact, I was able to get a little to up close and personal to a whale for my liking. It was so close that I quickly abandoned the idea of snorkelling and hopped back into the boat lol. However, it was amazing, as it was my very first whale sighting ever.
